About me

I have lived in Tampa, in District 64 in particular, most of my life. I attended Gaither High School in Northdale. From there, I studied theatre at UCF and then moved to Los Angeles where I lived for almost eight years. Since returning to Florida, I started and ran a small-scale rain barrel business. I did everything from acquiring them, fabricating them, even driving them around the state selling them. Now I’m a freelance journalist and carpenter on the side. I like to call it, “my hustle job”. The freelance market is tough and it’s rare that freelance work alone is enough to support myself, wife and two children. So I hustle. My wheelhouse is high school sports but I venture into any area. I have contributed stories to The Tampa Bay Times, Creative Loafing, The Zephyrhills News, The New Tampa/Wesley Chapel Neighborhood News, Flrunners.com, The Bradenton Herald, The Naples News-Press and WIN-Magazine. I have learned so much about Florida communities and those specific to Tampa Bay and District 64, I feel like I have an insider knowledge that not many people in other professions have.

I have been married for 12 years and have two beautiful children. They are my joy and inspiration. I realize we have the power to create the kind of place we want to leave our children.
